Active Directory
Active Directory(AD) एक technology है जिसका उपयोग किसी network पर computer और अन्य devices को manage करने के लिये किया जाता है ।
यह Windows Server का एक primary feature है जो local और internet-based server दोनो को handle करता है ।
Active Directory को network के अंदर domain users और OU बनाने और manage करने की अनुमति देता है ।
एक admin users का एक group बना सकता है । और उन्हे server पर उस विशेष directory के लिये विशेष access privilege provide कर सकता है ।
Example– Network बढ़ता है AD प्रत्येक level पर access level control प्रदान करते हुए बड़ी संख्या में users को logical group और sub group में arrange करने का तरीके provide करता है ।
Features of Active Directory
1) Hierarchical Organization
यह structure network resources के management और security policies के administration को आसान बनाता है ।
2) Centralized & Distributed Database
सभी Network data centrally located होते है लेकिन यह बहुत से server के बीच distribute हो सकते है । जिससे किसी information को fast आसानी से access किया जा सकता है ।
Information का automatic replication, loadbalancing, full tolerence प्रदान करता है ।
एक ही replication domain controller के बीच information transfer करना है जिससे कि यह सुनिश्चित हो सके कि सभी Domain Controller consistence और up to date information हैं ।
3) Scalability
यदि एक single domain में कुछ dozens या millions object को support करता है ।
4) Security
Active Directory fully integrated security system को support करता है ।
5) Flexibility
Active Directory to predefined objects.
Example– User Account या group के साथ install किया जाता है ।
लेकिन इनकी property को modify किया जाता है । और नए object customized solution के लिये add किये जा सकते है ।
6) Policy-based Administration
Active Directory policy-based Administration को support करता है ।
7) Rename computer name and Domain name
8) A site to site replication is faster
Disadvantages of Active Directory
1) Active Directory OS-dependent होता है इसलिए यह केवल windows server software के साथ work करता है ।
2) इसकी maintenance cost high होता है ।
3) यदि Active Directory गलत set हो जाता है तो इसे to remove करने या दुबारा configure करने में time और money दोनो लगता है ।
4) Infrastructure की cost high हो सकती है ।
5) Active Directory को सही ढंग से setup होने के लिये अच्छी planning की आवश्यकता होती है ।
6) यह users के लिये complex infrastructure है ।
